Great Tourist Spots in Central Coast to Include in your Schedule
North of Sydney lies Central Coast, a sunshine metropolis that is very popular with tourists both domestic and foreign alike, with great beaches and natural beauty that must be seen to be appreciated. There are several towns within driving distance, and if you are planning a few days of motoring, here are some locations to add to your schedule.
- Terrigal – A coastal beach village, Terrigal is outstanding for watersports, and the pristine beach is one of the best in the region. When looking for a restaurant in Terrigal, the Esplanade strip is home to some fantastic eateries and bars, and reservations are recommended at the weekends. Broken Head is a nice walk, heading south east, where you might get to see Humpback Whales as they head down to their breeding grounds. Check out the paddle boats while in Terrigal, which are great fun for all the family.
- Wyong – This quiet little town is a great place to spend the afternoon, with natural walkways and hiking trails, plus a few hearty pubs if you like bantering with the locals. The Tree Top Adventure Park is a must for nature lovers, and they have a unique program that sees you having to negotiate more than 100 challenges, while on the trek through the grounds. Great if you are fit and active and enjoy a challenge.
- Gosford Market – The market falls on the first Friday of every month and if your holiday is timed right, you can experience this lively and very colourful open market. Here you will find NSW’s best food vendors, making for an amazing cuisine experience, plus you can buy local arts and wares, all at very affordable prices. There are fun rides for the kids and a range of fun games for all, and with music until late, you can enjoy an amazing ambience that is Gosford Market.
If you have the time, you should allow at least one week to see and do all the things on offer around Central Coast, and if you are lucky, you can also see whales as they head off to Antarctica. Terriga is perhaps the most well-known, thanks to its unique selection of quality restaurants, and if you are a beach person, spending a few days in Terriga is very appealing. Touring the Central Coast is the best way to see the sights, and car hire is very reasonable if you are a foreign tourist, and with online research, you can plan your time in sunny Central Coast.
